"At the Box" Horizontal Print

Alex Box Stadium Print

$25.00

The Story:

I come from a baseball family.  My brother, my sister, and I all played some form of it growing up. They were both pretty good, but I never made it out of the summer rec league.  (Can't help it if I'm the artsy, indoorsy type.) I did, however, record and watch every single game of the Atlanta Braves' 1996 season on VHS.

These days, it's less about the Braves and more about the Tigers.  Attending games at Alex Box is a relatively new thing for me.  It started two or three years ago, when we discovered that our son, Wes, liked being in the stadium.  This was a big deal because Wes has autism.  He likes trains, dinosaurs, a select few Disney movies, and that's it.  Seeing him sit through an entire game, with all the noise and people, and smile the entire time was a revelation.  Our family shares great seats on the third base line.  But even when it's not our turn to go, I never miss watching a game.

I finished this painting in April, right before the 2025 team made its World Series run.  It's insanely detailed, and true to life save for one small flaw - my Intimidator now needs another date added to it.
